Functionality Overview

The Reminder Extension provides a mechanism in Case Manager to schedule time-based reminders. Users can scheduled a reminder for some time in the future and have the option to link a reminder to a specific case. At the time the reminder is due an alert popup will be shown to the user in Case Manager. From the pop-up the user is able to navigate to the associated case directly.

Toolbar buttons

The extension adds two buttons to the toolbar in Case Manager.

Case Reminders

The Case Reminders toolbar button shows all the reminders associated with the current case as a collection of cards. The reminder shows the fields listed below.

Time
The date and time the user should be reminded. This is an editable field: clicking on the field allows you to set a different reminder time.
Message
The message that will be displayed on the alert to the user. This is an editable field: clicking on the field allows you to edit the message.
User
The user for whom the reminder is created.
Associated Case
The Case Reference of the case associated with this reminder.
Is Processed
A check box indicating whether this reminded is processed. When checked, the reminded is seen as completed and will not effect a pop-up alert at the due time.

Case Reminders

When editing fields on a reminder remember to save the changes by making use of the save button on the toolbar. The toolbar also includes buttons to delete the current reminder, or to create a new one for the current case.

User Reminders

The User Reminders form shows the reminders over all cases for the current user. This includes reminders set that are not associated with any case. A grid is shown with all the reminders group by the date. As with the card view of Case Reminder you may also edit the date and message fields by clicking on the field in the grid to edit. Make use of the save button on the toolbar to commit the changes made in the grid. The Is Processed check box indicates whether the reminder is completed. When checked an alert will not be shown for the reminder.

User Reminders

The toolbar has the following buttons:

Create Reminder
When creating a reminded from the User Reminders (opposed to the Case Reminders), the reminded will not be associated with any case. When clicking this button, you will be able to set the date and time, and the reminder message of the new reminder.
Delete
Delete the reminder currentyl selected in the grid.
Save
Saves the changes (field edits) made to reminders shown in the grid.
Open Case
When the selected reminder is associated with a case, clicking this button will open the associated case.
Refresh
Reload the reminder information display in this form.

Alert Pop-up

Alert Pop-up Message At the time a reminder is due, a pop-up message is displayed on the bottom right of the Case Manager application. This alert shows the message as defined by the reminder and gives you the following options as buttons:

Open Case
When the reminder of the alert is associated with a case object, clicking this (green circle) button opens the associated case.
Dismiss
A user can acknowledge the alert message and marked it as processed by clicking the dismiss (yellow cross) button.
Snooze
A user can choose to snooze the reminder, that is postpone the alert with a selected amount of time. You will be presented with a few options of how long to snooze the reminder when you click on the Snooze (clock) button.

Snooze options

The alert message will be shown for several seconds before disappearing. You have the option of pinning the message (that is, prevent it from disappearing) by clicking the small pin toggle button in the top-right corner of the alert. If no action is taken on an alert pop-up message, it will automatically be snoozed for 5 minutes. An unprocessed alert message will automatically be dismissed 3 days after its due date.
