Internal Browser

Case Manager has an internal browser, built on Microsoft WebView2. This browser will show the user more information on the action, and the object (typically, the Case) from where it was invoked. It also has no address bar: users will be limited to the URL that was called and the navigation possible only from that page.

  • When a case is closed in Case Manager, the associated browser tabs will also be closed
  • When changing the active case in Case Manager to a different case, the active tab will also be changed to that of the case now viewed (should one be available).

Toolbars

Basic Actions
Basic navigation buttons (such as Back, Forward, and Refresh) are available on the browser's toolbar
Associated object
On the right-hand side of the toolbar, the browser shows which object (typically, case) is associated with the current browser tab.
Open Case
The Show in Case Manager button will show the case associated with the current browser tab in Case Manager
Pin
Pinning a tab will remove the association to an object from the tab, minimize the tab display, and keep it open if the previously-associated object is closed. This can be useful if a website login session should be kept open when the case-associated pages are closed.

Status Bar

The status bar (at the bottom of the browser window) shows the current URL of the selected browser tab. A status indicator also shows the relation of the current browser tab to the currently open case (in the main window of Case Manager). The following states are possible:

  • Current indicates that the current browser tab is associated with the currently open object (case) is Case Manager.
  • Different indicates that is current browser tab is associated with a different object (case) than the one currently open/viewed in Case Manager.
  • Pinned browser tabs are no longer associated with objects in Case Manager and will remain open when the originally associated objects are closed.
  • No association is used for browser tabs of web-call actions not associated with any Case Manager object(case).

Docking

The internal browser can be docked in the main window of Case Manager. By dragging the browser's title bar, a user can decide the layout of the screen. Alternatively, a user may also choose to keep the browser as a separate window. This can be done by double-clicking the title bar of the browser. This can especially be helpful if two or more screens are available on the agent's computer.

As with the navigation pane (that is, the diary, queues, and open cases section), you can choose to unpin the window which will auto-hide it when it does not have focus. Should you wish to keep the window always visible again, you can simply click the pin button on that window's title bar.
